Ultimately, we coffee lovers only want one thing: good coffee. It is true that no fully automatic machine achieves the aroma of a high-quality portafilter machine (if it is operated correctly!) – that is clear. But you also have to remember that such a machine only produces excellent coffee if the grinding level, temperature and pressure are set just right.

And let’s be honest: When I stumble into the kitchen in the morning, half asleep, I just want to press two buttons and enjoy my coffee.

I have over time Tried many fully automatic coffee machines, my wife even has a restaurant-café and I’m no stranger to portafilter machines. Nevertheless, the Magnifica S remains one of my favorites. The coffee tastes just great – especially considering the price and durability.

I recommend that everyone spend a bit of time thinking about the grinding level and bean selection in the first few weeks. Once you have found your taste, the Magnifica S is one reliable companion.

Good coffee machine, good milk frother, excellent taste!

After a few attempts, you can froth milk very well with the frother. For me as an espresso lover, however, this is not crucial. The design of the machine is simple and compact, and it also looks good, although the materials won’t win any awards. The bottom line is that performance is what counts and it is true at every level.

There is also an upgrade to the Magnifica S, which Magnificent Start. It offers touch controls, a higher quality design and some minor improvements such as a larger bean container. This is currently available on Amazon for €359 and is otherwise identical to the Magnifica S. If you value design, this could be the right choice for you.
