I learned about this children’s book because it was displayed so prominently in the window of a small bookstore near my wife’s shop. The little dragon furzipups has a problem: he can’t breathe fire!

What sounds like a crazy story has a wonderful and immensely important core: each of us is different, each of us is our own. Because of this: Stop trying to please everyone and do your own thing. Because you are perfect, exactly the way you are. Even if not everyone likes it.

Furzipups shows that the body just does things – and that’s not a bad thing. And well, the name alone is simply brilliant.

The Little Mole – a story that I found funny even as a child

Who doesn’t know that?: You get up in the morning, look forward to a wonderful day and then nothing bothers you or anyone bothers you. Something like that can really ruin your day!

The little mole doesn’t want to put up with this: He goes looking after whoever put that sausage on his head.

Yes. Really. That’s the story. I was still a bit of a rat when it was read to me for the first time. Now, as a great dragon, I still find the story so absurd that it’s almost cult. And who killed the mole now?? You can find out here:

The Neinhorn: As if a book had leased the Dadjokes – fantastic!

Once upon a time there was a little unicorn who just kept saying “no” all the time – so it was affectionately named that Neinhorn. After setting off into the big, wide world, she of course meets the dog, who is always indifferent to everything (NaHund) and a raccoon (WASBar), who doesn’t want to listen.

And then of course there is that King’s daughterswhich always just says… but… Wow.

The Nohorn is the Grumpy Cat of children’s books. Anyone in their mid-thirties will certainly see themselves in one or two characters.

Of course, don’t forget the values Boredom. She finds everything, yes, you guessed it, super boring. Apart from that, there are still those in the stories questionable whythe tired yawning leopard as well as something strange humster.
