Thunderful Games’ SteamWorld Build has received a new trailer, but unfortunately no release date. However, the game will still release in 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Check out the latest gameplay below.
Unlike previous games, which tended toward Metroidvania and turn-based tactical combat, in SteamWorld Build you play the role of architect for a mining town. Your job is to expand and grow, providing electricity and other essential amenities. This allows you to enter the abandoned mine and find more materials for upgrades.
The latest trailer shows trains, Ferris wheels, roller coasters and even drive-in cinemas on various maps. The mines are a different story, thanks to various pus-like lumps and roots that must be burned to progress. Hostile insects and zombie robots also wander around, hinting at demonic secrets underground.
SteamWorld Build now has a demo available on PC.
