Star Wars – oh, Star Wars. It was so nice with you. We had so many good times. Many lows. But also immeasurable highs. And now? Now there is only frustration. Where there used to be fascination, there is now indifference. A new series? I do not care.

For me, the once epic franchise is barely a shadow of its former self. Reason enough to look back and focus on how beautiful Star Wars once was. Star Destroyers, Jedi, the Empire – and well-told stories!

Star Wars: The Acolyte canceled: Time to celebrate the old Star Wars!

With the cancellation of “The Acolyte”, Star Wars under Disney has probably reached its lowest point. Obi-Wan already left me massively disappointed. When there was so much potential for the emotionally charged relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan weredisillusionment remained. A flat narrative that had its moments, but never really reached depth – despite the beautiful Reunion with Hayden Christensen.

Enough whining – none of this changes how much joy Star Wars used to bring. As a child, I loved the old episodes celebrated – and yes, I also liked the prequel trilogy, even though it is certainly not without flaws. But let’s be honest: The Duel of the Fates in Episode III is the best staged lightsaber fight ever.

Even as a little boy I always wanted a Star Destroyer – or an AT-AT. Friends of mine had the large Death StarI was in third grade at the time. Unfortunately, LEGO was already sinfully expensivenow even more so. Fortunately, there are now alternatives – in this case it goes by the name “SHHFWU” – and behind it is none other than Mould King, probably the best and biggest LEGO alternative.

Mould King vs. LEGO: Duel of the brick manufacturers

Mould King is also a brick manufacturer like LEGO. The Bricks are even compatible with LEGO – and completely legally, since the original LEGO patents expired a few years ago.

At the same time, Mould King specializes in really large sets, which are often intended for display rather than for playing. Some of the models are well over a meter long. This Star Destroyer is also with 1.18 meters really gigantic – and extremely detailedFrom the small laser towers to the iconic radar tower, everything is included. Die Quality of the bricks from Mould King is good to very good – it’s not uncommon to hear from fans that it’s better than the LEGO one. The fit and the hold are particularly strong.

There is one drawback, however: Mould King does not pay any official licensing fees. So far, they have gotten by just fine, with the sets selling by the thousands on Amazon.
