Ghostwire: Tokyo is gone, and now Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is free to claim on the Epic Games Store. It’s available until 8 a.m. PST, Dec. 26, so if you have an Epic Games account, get it now for free on PC.
As a “remastered” version of The Outer Worlds, the Spacer’s Choice Edition includes the base game and the two DLCs – Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon. It also offers improved performance and visuals, higher-resolution environments, more animations and gameplay features such as an increased level cap. With the base game having reached five million players, it is worth a try for its branching story-based gameplay.
Unfortunately, when it first launched, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition was full of performance issues and bugs, although several updates have improved things. It is also available for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Obsidian is working on The Outer Worlds 2 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, although there is no release date yet. The president of Microsoft game content and studios, Matt Booty, also said no decision has yet been made on whether it will come to PlayStation.
