SkyShowtime launched in Romania: everything about the alternative to Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+, what offer is not to be refused

New premium streaming service SkyShowtime launches today in Romania, Albania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Poland and Slovakia. Playtech editorial staff was present at the streaming network’s launch press event in Warsaw last week.

There, we were treated to a surprise screening, namely the first two episodes of Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, a series that is available on SkyShowtime, starting today, featuring the famous actor after his release from prison – mob boss Dwight “General” Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire with a group of unlikely characters.

Also at this press event, we attended a press conference with Monty Sarhan, CEO SkyShowtime, Jon Farrar, Head of Programming and Gábor Harsányi, Regional General Manager of Central and Eastern Europe. They answered questions from journalists in Europe and explained why SkyShowtime is special.

In Romania, customers will pay just €1.99 per month instead of €3.99 per month. In the Czech Republic, the price will be 89 CZK per month, instead of 179 CZK per month. In Hungary, the price will be HUF 999 per month instead of HUF 1,999 per month, and in Poland customers will pay only PL 12.49 per month instead of PL 24.99 per month.

In Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Slovakia, customers who want to take advantage of the offer will pay just €2.99 a month instead of €5.99 a month for globally acclaimed content, including first-run Hollywood movies on TV and exclusive new series from the world’s biggest studios, all available in one place.

Launches in Spain and Andorra follow on 28 February 2023.

Among the renowned new movies and series coming to SkyShowtime in the next few months are some of the most anticipated releases: A Town Called Malice, Belfast, Drift – Partners In Crime (S1A), Lioness, Nope, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Rabbit Hole, Smile, The Black Phone and The Great Game.

The streaming service will be available directly to all customers via the website: www.skyshowtime.com and via the SkyShowtime app (available on Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices, Android TV, Google Chromecast and LG TV). In addition, SkyShowtime has announced a partnership with Samsung. Starting February 14, customers in all markets will also be able to watch SkyShowtime on select Samsung smart TVs. As such, SkyShowtime will be accessible via Samsung Smart TV models released in 2017 or later running on the Tizen OS 3.0 platform or later.
