Shiba Inu crypto project to offer .shib domains

SHIBthe entity behind the meme corner Shiba Inuhas tied a partnership with the supplier D3 Global to enable its community to register web3 domain names with the extension .shib.

Tuesday, late afternoon, SHIB revealed a new initiative to offer top-level domain names in .shib and can be used as a numerical identifier.

To this end, the second meme corner of the crypto market has moved closer to D3 Globala start-up specializing in web3 domains, raised $5 million from Shima Capital in September.

D3 Global will be helping SHIB to apply to ICANN for its .shib extension in the Internet regulator’s next application window.

Our partnership with D3 allows us to evolve beyond the existing ShibArmy and give over 5 billion Internet users direct access to the SHIB ecosystem,” commented Shytoshi Kusama, lead developer of Shiba Inu, in a statement.

Holders of .shib domains will be able to use it to replace, among other things, the traditional, lengthy crypto wallet addresses.

“Our mission is to provide true Web3 domains that work everywhere. Our platform enables modern, interoperable digital identities that integrate existing Internet infrastructure with Web3 ecosystems”, said Shayan Rostam, co-founder of D3 Global, while welcoming the tie-up with meme coin.

Over the past 24 hours, Shiba Inu’s share price has fallen by around 3%. It is currently trading at around 0.00001019 dollar.

Last summer, SHIB launched the mainnet for its Shibarium layer 2.
