Screen time – February 2025 –

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already a twelfth of the way to 2025. January is in the books and we now turn our attention to February, a month with a slew of exciting projects planned for the moviegoer and streaming fan in your life. With a lot to get through, let’s waste no more time and get right to this latest installment of Screen Time, which as usual we have based on a UK release calendar, so be sure to check locally for accurate dates and listings.

Sept. 5 – Feb. 6

This docudrama takes us back to the 1972 Olympics in Munich and follows a crew of American sports broadcasters as they are tasked with revising their coverage to focus instead on a group of Israeli athletes held hostage by terrorists. This film explores one of the sports world’s most incredible stories and shows how that year’s Olympics were known for more than just record-breaking athletic performances.

Invincible: Season 3 [Prime Video] – Feb. 6

One of the better animated superhero series currently available, Invincible returns to Prime Video this month to kick off its third season, in which Mark Grayson and his allies are once again tasked with saving the day, continuing to protect Earth and defending humanity from dangerous villains and cosmic, alien threats.

Love Hurts – Feb. 7

Ke Huy Quan’s goal to conquer Hollywood continues in February with the celebrity actor’s latest action epic. This film, known as Love Hurts, sees Huy Quan’s protagonist real estate agent fighting against the odds after his former partner-in-crime re-enters his life and delivers a disturbing message. With criminals and estranged family on his heels, this is one for the action lovers out there.

Dog Man – Feb. 7

While December 2024 was a huge month for young animation fans, February 2025 is significantly less so. But it does have a few things on this front to be excited about, including Dog Man, an adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s book series in which a police officer who is half-man, half-dog defends the innocent and foils the evil efforts of Petey the Cat.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep [Netflix] – Feb. 11

While Liam Hemsworth will soon assume the mantle of Henry Cavill as the live-action Geralt of Rivia, the animated version of the most famous Witcher will once again be voiced by video game legend Doug Cockle. Known for his work as the character in CD Projekt Red’s titles, this story takes the gruff voice Geralt into the dark depths in an attempt to subvert a war between the land and the sea.

Cobra Kai: Season 6 – Part 3 [Netflix] – February 13

After seven years and six seasons, Cobra Kai.The Karate Kid The third and final part of the spin-off show’s final season comes out this month, and with it we see the Miyagi-Do tribe face their most ruthless challenges yet as they battle it out at the Sekai Taikai World Championship. Expect more silly teenage storylines and well-choreographed action in these final few episodes.

Bridget Jones: Mad at the Boy – Feb. 13

We’ve been following Renée Zellweger’s famous Bridget Jones for years, and despite already having several big-screen movies to her name, the icon will once again find herself stuck in all sorts of silly circumstances in February and somehow even dealing with yet another love triangle. In addition to new characters, this installment also brings back a few beloved faces, such as Hugh Grant’s Daniel.

Captain America: Brave New World – Feb. 14

The first Marvel Cinematic Universe film of the year. This adventure will be the first to star Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America, a hero tasked with taking down an international incident that took place at the presidential inauguration of Thaddeus Ross, now played by Harrison Ford. This film will bring back familiar faces and also introduce a few new stars, such as Giancarlo Esposito’s deadly Sidewinder.

The White Lotus [Max/Sky] – Feb. 16

It’s time to travel back to one of the world’s most luxurious vacation resort chains, as The White Lotus reopens its doors this month. The third season leaves Hawaii and Italy behind and instead takes fans to Thailand to unpack a story full of intrigue and conflicted and memorable characters. Although the plot is being kept secret, we can probably count, judging from past experiences, that someone, somewhere will find themselves in an early grave in this next series of episodes.

Win or lose [Disney+] – February 19

Pixar will explore something it has never done before this month, as the famed animation studio will offer its first-ever full-length series. This show, known as Win or Lose, follows a high school softball team leading up to their championship game and tells a story on an episodic basis from the perspective of each of the main characters. Disney+ doesn’t have much to offer this month, but this does.

Zero Day [Netflix] – Feb. 20

Robert De Niro will also make his television debut this month by appearing in Netflix’s drama series Zero Day. In this show, De Niro plays the president of the United States as he is tasked with finding out information about and ultimately stopping a cyber attack that threatens the security of the country and the world. Tensions will run high in this show that even features some big names like Jesse Plemons and Lizzy Caplan.

Reacher: Season 3 [Prime Video] – Feb. 20

Alan Ritchson’s towering hero returns this month to star in the third season of the Prime Video -show. This series of episodes of Reacher looks to adapt the Persuader -roman, in which the titular hero goes undercover to rescue an informant held hostage by a former enemy. While Reacher may be a mountain of a man, this time he meets a new character who somehow makes him seem small….

The Monkey – Feb. 21

Last year Oz Perkins scared us all with the amazing Longlegs and this year he plans to do the same, albeit with a very different kind of story. The Monkey is an adaptation of Stephen King’s famous short story that explores how two brothers are tasked with dealing once again with a toy monkey that has spent its existence brutally murdering and killing those who come into their lives.

1923: Season 2 [Paramount+] – February 23

In the second season of the Yellowstone prequel show, Harrison Ford’s Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren’s Cara Dutton will battle brutal odds to protect their precious land. This time the pair must survive a ferocious winter while their son Spencer makes the long journey home from Africa to help in the fight to protect the Yellowstone ranch from those who would stake their claim to it. If you enjoyed the main series and have been looking for more since the credits rolled, you won’t want to miss this one.

Last Breath – Feb. 28

Based on true events, this drama is a story revolving around deep-sea diver Chris Lemons, who became trapped on the ocean floor with limited air supply after a mechanical failure in terrible weather. Last Breath describes this incident and how Lemons’ friends and team came together to embark on a daring rescue mission to save his life against immeasurable odds.
