Samsung officially confirms Galaxy S23 series launch date

Following repeated leaks, and probably because we’re fast approaching launch time, Samsung has officially announced the date for the Galaxy Unpacked event, where the three new Galaxy S23 models are expected to be released. The company is thus confirming rumors that suggested the launch would take place in early February in the US, making this Samsung’s first “physical” launch in three years.

Once again, the unofficial word has been confirmed: the Galaxy S23 launches on Feb. 1

The event will kick off on February 1, starting at 8pm EST. That’s when we’ll get our first look at the three Galaxy S23 devices, via a live broadcast from San Francisco. Samsung has also released a teaser video for the new devices.

These appear to be centered around cameras, one hinting at the shape of the system on the back of the devices, made of three independent lenses without an island surrounding them. Other clips that leaked onto the internet the other day talked about megapixels, meaning we can expect a new, 200-megapixel sensor on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, while night photography capabilities, were also touted.

The new Galaxy S series will be the epitome of how we define premium experience at the highest level. We’re raising the bar and creating new standards for what epic means.”, is the message that comes alongside the launch event confirmation.

It looks like this year, the “main” color for the Galaxy S23 series is green, as we can see in the video released by Samsung. However, this will only be one of the four colors in which the S23 models will be released. Images of all four variants have already been leaked on the internet for a few days now, both with the “standard” S23 model and the Galaxy S23 Ultra variant.
