Red Bull has announced the location of its next esports tournament. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), Red Bull Solo Legends. The national finals of the competition will take place at the Royal Opera House in Mumbai, marking the first time this iconic building has hosted an esports event.
Launched in October, Red Bull Solo Legends is one of the largest BGMI tournaments held in India. On December 2, 32 players from the open qualifiers will compete against 24 professional players and eight Chaos Agents in five matches to crown the ultimate champion.
The winner of the event will earn the title of India’s top BGMI single player, plus an exclusive experience with Red Bull Racing. Details of what the experience includes have not been disclosed.
The national final features some of India’s best BGMI players. Jonathan “Jonathan Gaming” Amaral, Tanishk “Admino” Singh, Ashutosh “Punk” Singh and Sahil “Omega” Jakhar are among the 24 pros who will battle it out for victory.
Built in the early 20th century, Bombay’s Royal Opera House is the only surviving opera house in the country. In recent years, the venue has hosted several concerts and film screenings. Esports is no stranger to holding events at opera houses. In 2015, the European regional final of the Call of Duty Championship took place at the Royal Opera House in London.
