Jura, De’longhi, Philips, Saeco – I tried them all. My favorite is the Siemens EQ900, which I have had for over half a year now.
Good coffee is more than just a pleasure for me – it is Ritual, short time -out and energy source at the same time. I consciously limit myself to three cups a day, but these three cups have to be really good. The Siemens EQ900 has been in my kitchen since Christmas – And I can say with conviction: He is one of the best fully automatic coffee machines that you can currently get.
At Prime Day he is massively reduced and at having a really strong price – Before you flag blindly, you should know one or two things.

The best fully automatic coffee machine I have ever tried: Siemens beats Jura, De’longhi and Saeco
The EQ900 is that Top model from Siemens And not only makes excellent coffee that from espresso to latte macchiatto to Cold Brew-Coffee (Mjam!) enough, but also has an enormous variety of setting options.
Ob Grain, temperature, amount of water or milk content – Everything is freely adjustable, just as you know it from a portafilter. For me the absolute gamechanger, because now I can always do my coffee exactly as I love it and I am no longer at the mercy.
Attention when buying: You should know these model numbers!

Die However, model variety of the EQ900 is confusing: All devices start with “TQ”, behind it follows three -digit numbers (903, 905, 907) that stand for the equipment. The ending “D0” is the standard version, “DZ” describes the variant with automatic descaling. Here I clarify what it is.
My recommendation is clear and could save you a lot of money!
- TQ903: Basic version without a beanstick and without cup warmer
- TQ905: A bean container, but with cup warmer and beans
- TQ907: Two bean containers with separate grinding, cup heating, beanstair
Which model from the EQ900 is really worth it?
I myself have that Model with cup warmer and bean analysis – and was sober. The cup warmer brings too little temperature to be really useful. And the so-called Beanident system does not analyze a bean automatically, but only offers manual suggestions based on your information. In my eyes nice gimmicks, but Under no circumstances value the surcharge of € 200!
My tip: If you don’t necessarily need two bean containers, you should use the TQ903. It offers the same brewing technique, but is often significantly cheaper. Only if you want two bean containers do you have to use the expensive TQ907. The “modern” version has an automatic descaling unit on board. Here you always have to buy expensive remedies, but cleaning is automated. In my eyes, too, this is not absolutely necessary.

This is how you get most of your fully automatic coffee machine
The Siemens EQ900 is otherwise a high-tech device that makes incredibly good coffee and offers an incredible number of individualization options. Cold Brew coffee, slow-break, espresso, double covers-he is simply a dream. There are minor criticisms, for example the milk adapter is a bit fiddly because it really has to sit exactly, but coffee yourself itself is a pleasure.
Speaking of: If you really want to know what settings do what, here you broke it up:
Full automatic coffee machine: What settings for which taste?
The Siemens EQ900 is so good for me because I have full controls over my coffee – in everyday life I never want a fully automatic machine with fewer functions.
1. Brewing temperature – what temperature does the best aroma bring?
What happens:
The water temperature decides how many flavorings are extracted from the coffee flour. The ideal are usually 92–96 ° C. If the temperature is significantly above or below, the result suffers.
Taste consequences:
- Over 96 ° C: The coffee often tastes bitter or slightly burned.
- Below 90 ° C: The taste remains flat, sour, partly unbalanced.
- Optimalbereich (ca. 93 °C): Harmonious balance of acid, sweetness and bitter substances – especially with lighter roasts.
2. Brewing time – how long is long enough?
What happens:
The duration of the contact between water and coffee powder influences how many components are extracted – too many or too few change the taste experience significantly.
Taste consequences:
- Too short (<20 s at espresso / <4 min at filter): Lower extraction – the coffee looks thin, grassy, not very aromatic.
- Too long (> 30 s at espresso /> 5 min at filter): Overextraction – the drink becomes bitter, uncomfortably dry.
- Recommendation: Espresso 25–30 seconds, filter coffee for 4–5 minutes – this is how the full aroma profile unfolds.

3. Meal – how fine should it be?
What happens:
The finer the coffee powder, the greater the surface – which affects how quickly and intensely aromas are removed.
Taste consequences:
- Too fine: Overextraction – the result tastes bitter, heavy, with some sandy mouthfeel.
- Too rough: Lower extraction – the coffee looks watery, flat and acidic.
- Correctly chosen: The taste is clear, balanced – with noticeable nuances.
Examples:
- Espresso: Fine grind
- Filter coffee: Medium
- French Press: Rough
4. Coffee strength – how much powder is ideal?
What happens:
More coffee powder means more dissolved substances – that can be great, but also too much of a good thing.
Taste consequences:
- Too little powder: The coffee tastes thin, unbalanced, almost like colored water.
- Too much powder: Overextracted – the drink becomes bitter and overloaded.
- Ideal: Strong, full -bodied taste with balanced aroma.
Guide values:
- Espresso (Doppelshot): 18–20 g to approx. 40–45 ml
- Filter coffee: About 60 g to 1 l water
