Oppo Reno8 Pro to get a special “House of the Dragon” edition

Oppo has announced a special edition of its new top-end mid-range smartphone, the Reno8 Pro, in partnership with HBO. It’s a themed device, decorated with design elements inspired by the House of the Dragon series, the Game of Thrones prequel currently running on HBO and the HBO Max streaming service. While the phone in the bundle doesn’t seem to be very special in terms of design, it does come with fan-themed accessories.

Oppo and HBO have partnered on a limited release of the Reno8 Pro phone

The House of the Dragon Limited Edition Set package for the Oppo Reno8 Pro looks to dedicate the design entirely to the Targaryen house from the HBO series. We’re talking a textured leather case inspired by Balerion’s dragon “The Black Dread”, complete with gold Targaryen logo. Also included in the pack is a SIM keychain in the shape of a dragon’s head, a keychain with the house logo, as well as a dragon-shaped finger holder.

Of course, being a collector’s box, there is also a golden dragon egg and a special message from King Viserys I Targaryen, one of the main characters in the series and in the book Fire & Blood, written by George R.R. Martin, author of this fantasy universe.

Currently, this special Reno8 Pro bundle is only listed on the Indian store Flipkart without a listing price. However, we do know that the phone will be released very soon, on October 24, so it won’t be long before we find out how much it costs too. Most likely though, the House of the Dragon bundle won’t be a globally available one. It’s unclear, however, if it will remain exclusive to India, or if it will be released in other “select” regions.
