Nike has come up with a new way to create and make shoes. The sportswear and lifestyle brand has unveiled a 3D printed sneaker that is a “new era of sneaker innovation.” wants to usher in.
Considered the Air Max 95000, the model is a shoe that pays homage to the Air Max 95 classic. It has a Big Bubble Max Air unit in the heel for a resilient underfoot, and thanks to the specially designed print formula used in its creation, we are told it should be durable and have plenty of grip on the outsole.
Speaking of the Air Max 95000, the CEO of Zellerfeld, Cornelius Schmitt, the company that printed the shoe for Nike, said: “What started as a profound idea to give makers more freedom has grown into something much bigger. Today, the brand we all grew up with uses our platform to design faster, test ideas instantly, experiment without limit and bring entirely new silhouettes to life. Nike has always defined the future of shoes, and Zellerfeld’s technology helps unlock new possibilities in design.”
The Air Max 95000 goes on sale Nov. 28 and is available in one color, the signature Black/Volt pattern.
