Netflix: what to watch in January 2024 –

Although we all had a busy December, the new year is not slowing down when it comes to new content making its debut on Netflix. The streamer has a slew of original movies and TV series planned, and is bolstering its library with a slew of exciting other projects. With plenty coming, here’s what you should be watching on Netflix in January 2024.

Television series:

Fool me once – Jan. 1

Michelle Keegan is the headliner of this mystery series about a widow whose life is thrown into disarray when she sees her dead husband on her child’s nanny cam.

The Sun Brothers – Jan. 4

Michelle Yeoh shines in this action-comedy series about a ruthless gangster from Taipei who travels to Los Angeles to protect his mother and younger brother after his father is murdered.
Delightful in Dungeon – Jan. 4

In this Netflix original anime, a group of adventurers explore a dangerous dungeon in hopes of finding one of the member’s sisters after she is eaten by a dragon.

Break Point (Season 2) – Jan. 10

The second season of the tennis documentary follows some of the sport’s most notorious and iconic athletes as they compete in top tournaments around the world.

Sonic Prime (Season 3) – Jan. 11

In the third season of the animated children’s show, Sonic and the gang continue to travel through the multiverse to protect it from the destructive Dr. Eggman.

Griselda – January 25

Sofia Vergara leads the cast of this biodrama about Griselda Blanco, a woman who gained notoriety in the 1970s for being considered one of Colombia’s most ruthless cartel leaders.

Masters of the Universe: Revolution – Jan. 25

Kevin Smith’s adaptation of the Masters of the Universe brand continues this month with the first season of Revolution, which explores how He-Man and Teela work together to save Eternia from Skeletor after he defeats the iconic heroes.

Movies:

Bitconned – January 1

This crime documentary explores how Ray Trapani became one of the biggest scammers in crypto history.

Good grief – Jan. 5

Dan Levy finds himself in front of the camera and in the director’s chair in this romcom, also written by Levy, about a man who travels to Paris in the aftermath of his husband’s death.
Transporter 2 – Jan. 7

Jason Statham shines in this sequel to a 2007 action film about a man who must rescue the kidnapped child of a powerful U.S. official.
Dune – Jan. 9

With Part Two debuting in theaters in March, Netflix is bringing the first chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s epic 2021 sci-fi adaptation to users around the world.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 – Jan. 10

Ben Schwartz returns as the blue blur in this 2022 live-action sequel in which Jim Carrey is also back as Dr. Robotnik and Idris Elba makes his debut as Knuckles.

Elevator – Jan. 12

Kevin Hart stars alongside Gugu Mbatha-Raw in this action-comedy film about a master thief who teams up with his ex-girlfriend to steal $100 million in gold from an on-board 777 passenger jet.

Morbius – Jan. 13

It’s finally Morbin’ time for Netflix users, as the notoriously bad Jared Leto-led 2022 superhero film comes to the streamer in the middle of this month.

The Kitchen – Jan. 19

Daniel Kaluuya makes his directorial debut in this film about two young men fighting for the residents of The Kitchen, a community that refuses to leave their homes in a dystopian version of London.
