Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will come out this fiscal year, says Sony – That’s Gaming

The PS5 has a number of exclusive titles planned for the coming months, and while there aren’t many first-party titles among them, one title has piqued the interest of many people. Earlier this year, developer Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would come out this fall, and Sony has now also confirmed that the game is on track for release.

In its recent quarterly report, Sony confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is on track for release this fiscal year. “We also plan to release a major title, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, this fiscal year, and we aim to continue to create new IPs, release catalog titles for PC and strengthen the development of live game services,” the company said.

The fiscal year ends March 31 next year, of course, but it is likely that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will come out much earlier than that. As mentioned, it has an official launch window in the fall, while actor Tony Todd – who plays Venom in the game – recently suggested that the game will come out in September. Actor Yuri Lowenthal, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man, also recently said that his motion capture work for the game has been completed.

When we can expect an official announcement for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or will see gameplay remains to be seen. Insomniac has asked fans to “be patient a little longer,” and with Sony rumored to be planning a PlayStation Showcase event in May, it may not be long before we get to see the game.
