Marathon Digital breaks record for most bitcoins mined in 1 month

The BTC miner listed on stock exchange Marathon extracted a record amount from digital parts last month. His hash rate operational today is greater than 15 EH/s.

The executive also indicated that the development of Ordinals, the NFT based on Bitcoin, which have been making headlines in recent weeks, had largely contributed to the increase in transaction fees in May, on some occasions exceeding the block reward normally capped at 6.25 bitcoins.

“Also in May, we announced that we would be partnering with Brink to raise up to $1 million to support developers Bitcoin Core. In less than four days, we have collectively raised nearly $800,000, including $500,000 from Marathon’s contribution. added Fred Thiel.

Marathon had already set a record in terms of bitcoins mined in the first quarter of 2023. However, the American firm announced a Q1 loss of $7.2 million. MARA shares gained around 10% this week on the Nasdaq.
