Lego unveils fan-made bug collection –

Lego has announced the 50th set to come from the fan-created Lego Ideas platform. Known as The Insect Collection, this series of sets will look to serve up interpretations of some of the most iconic and stunning insects and critters.

Designed by fan José María Pérez Suero, the set includes a Blue Morpho butterfly sitting on a branch, a male Hercules beetle on a rotting tree trunk and a Chinese praying mantis praying on a ladybug.

About his set, José said: “I studied science and fine arts and have always been fascinated by the intricate details of the natural world. As a lifelong LEGO fan who has previously come up with a series of new set ideas, I find inspiration for new builds through my hobbies, including photography and nature.
