Scroll offers a layer2 zkEVMa scaling solution compatible with the Virtual Ethereum Machine (EVM) and taking advantage of Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proofs.

In a press release, the startup behind the project states that Scroll offers a “virtually identical experience to Ethereum”, enabling developers to “copy/paste” and deploy their projects on its L2.

We see a future in which the vast majority of value transfers will take place on Ethereum L2s. What will drive this adoption is an improved experience for users and developers. We strive to enable developers to create blockchain applications that will anchor Web3 in real use cases, attracting new users en masse,” trumpeted Scroll co-founder Sandy Peng.

Available on Goerli since the beginning of the year, Scroll’s testnet has recorded 55 million transactions since then. Around 100 DApps have been deployed on the various test networks.
