Kevin Spacey joins cast of conspiracy thriller The Awakening

After being charged with sex crimes from which Spacey was later acquitted, the actor wants to return to our screens. He recently joined the cast of the upcoming conspiracy thriller The Awakening.

Starring Peter Stormare, Alice Eve, Julian Glover and more, the film follows two people who discover a conspiracy to control the world, and look for sales at the Cannes Film Festival. Via Variety, Matt Routledge will direct, with Camelot Films producing and financing the film along with star Justin Tinto.

This is not the first film Spacey has starred in since his controversy, but it would be the biggest yet if he finds a home in Cannes. With Spacey’s return to the screen, we will likely see more controversy arise as a shadow of Hollywood’s dark past returns.
