Instagram adds to the list of platforms that have recently experienced downtime, with the Whats App recording one of the longest periods of downtime in history.
“We’re aware that some of you are experiencing problems accessing your Instagram account,” reads a statement from the company’s Twitter communications account. “We are reviewing and apologize for the inconvenience.”

Instagram users’ grievances first surfaced on Twitter, with some of the most serious problems reported:
“My Instagram account was suspended for no reason, not even a notification, they took down my account 🙁 I have like everyone else years of photos on there, literally can’t get them back, want a reason!!!!!!!!,” tweeted another.
At the moment, the issue is not officially acknowledged by Instagram administrators, much less resolved.
