How artificial intelligence could “retire” Spielberg, Burton or Shyamalan

Artificial intelligence is gaining more and more power as technology advances.

Obviously, this is sowing panic in the minds of some people who automatically begin to feel threatened by a universe dominated by Terminators.

Whether it will, or not, we can’t know, since the odds of a fate left in the hands of robots are 50/50 at this point.

It will probably all depend on how we manage to “educate” the new AI-based devices. If we play our cards right, technology could be with us, not against us.

How relevant is artificial intelligence to the film industry

Take, for example, the horror version of Lord of the Rings in the vision of artificial intelligence, and this seems like only the beginning.

Then again, the other day we reported that Disney is slowly but surely moving back into creating video content for the film industry with the help of FRAN, a device that ages actors “in pen”. This could cut distribution costs by as much as half if the technology proves to be a successful one in the future.

Incidentally, Star Wars fans more than likely remember Princess Leia’s appearance at the end of 2016’s Rogue One, with Carrie Fisher digitally recreated to look like she did in the original Star Wars trilogy, i.e. when she was in her twenties.

In addition, the first film festival dedicated to artificial intelligence-based creations has just been announced. Specifically, Stable Diffusion is looking for short films made entirely by artificial intelligence or in part.

The AI film festival is scheduled to take place in February, online as well as physically in New York. All those interested can submit their work by January 15, 2023, organizers announced.

In conclusion, how long do you think it will be before the great filmmakers are “retired” by artificial intelligence?
