Level Infinitethe publisher of the MOBA for cell phones Honor of Kingshas revealed the esports roadmap of the video game by 2025. The plans were unveiled during the Honor of Kings Championship finals held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 2025 season of Honor of Kings (HOK) will revolve around three worldwide events: the Invitational Honor of Kings Season 3 Invitational, the Midseason Invitational and the Honor of Kings Championship.
Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3 will be the first global event, taking place in the spring. More details on the size and location of the event will be released at a later date. However, it has been announced that Will be held at a location “not too far” from Jakarta.
The second event, Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason, will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. and is expected to feature a “grand prize”. Although not explicitly stated during the announcement, it is likely to be an Esports World Cup event, as was the case with the 2024 iteration. At that event, the HOK tournament featured a $3.05M prize pool.
Finally, the Honor of Kings Championship will be the season-closing event, although no details have been given as to its location or date.
A regional level, two new leagues will be created (HOK Major East and HOK Major West). to offer more frequent competition, and it will be announced at a later date which regions will be divided into which conference.
The ecosystem announcement also included plans to launch a page of third-party tournament solicitation for organizers to obtain licenses. In addition, organizers will receive different levels of support depending on the size and nature of their tournament.
Finally, a decision has been made to change Honor of Kings esports to a global ban/lock system, where champions banned/locked, at least once, during the selection phases of the best-of-two series will be unplayable. The changes were revealed by James Yang, Senior Director of Level Infinite’s Global Esports Center, during the Honor of Kings Championship finals.
