Here’s why you should watch out for gnomes in your garden –

Police in North Wales are issuing a warning for people who may discover a gnome in their garden. This is not some forest creature coming to nest in your home, as criminals are said to be using it as a kind of calling card.

In short, if the gnome lingers, people will know you are not in the house and will then try to break in to loot your possessions. Police have reminded homeowners to make sure their homes are safe. A spokesperson told Sky News that they ” advising residents to be vigilant”.

Other than removing the gnomes and making sure the doors are locked, there really doesn’t seem to be much else to do. Even if this is a very serious matter, it is still pretty comical that criminals choose gnomes as their calling card.
