Mattel and DC began teasing a few days ago that some sort of crossover was in the works. It was centered around, of all things, Batman and Barbie, leading many to wonder if the Caped Crusader was on track for a makeover. This will not be the case, as something much more fitting is on the horizon.
A Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy Barbie doll duo has been announced. The former will include bouncing pigtails, a black and red outfit, Harley’s signature hammer and a few extra accessories, such as a choker, merits, belt with studs, boots and knee and elbow pads. The latter will be a bit different, as it will have chlorophyll-colored skin, a wrist-mounted crossbow and a Venus flytrap plant in a pot. Because Ivy tends to wear flowers and vines as clothing, she does not have the same accessory assortment as Harley.
According to Comicbook, the two dolls will likely go on sale as early as Sept. 21, a day considered Batman Day, and each will sell for about $55. We are still waiting for local prices.
