Belgian indie studio Happy Volcano is throwing the assembly lines on full blast for Steam Automation Fest (July 14-21), putting their modular factory simulator Modulus in full swing. They are doing so with a recently updated demo, a brand new creator program and the unveiling of their Early Access launch date: Oct. 22, 2025.
With over 100,000 wishlists, 42,000 demo downloads and a 96% “Very Positive” score on Steam, Modulus has quietly built a solid reputation, voxel by voxel.

Put it in your calendar: Early Access starts October 22
The Steam Automation Fest ushers in the final straight line to the Early Access release of Modulus in October. Players can look forward to, among other things:
- The Tech Tree – Unlock new islands, upgrades and tools with Data Shards.
- Advanced Systems – Sorters, warehouses, new drone deliveries and deeper logic automation.
- Cosmetics & Personalization – More visual flair and creative freedom.
- Player-controlled Goals – Module challenges, weekly prompts and a build-as-you-want approach.
