Games to look for – July 2025 -.

It’s the height of summer and that traditionally means a more stable period for video game fans. This year is somewhat similar, as we have a handful of highly anticipated titles headlining a month that is otherwise packed with indies and AA gems. So, if that’s the case, let’s start with a new Games To Look For.

Mecha Break (PC, PS5, Xbox series) – July 2

The month begins with a brand new multiplayer third-person shooter in which huge and deadly mechs crash into intense warfare. Set in a futuristic, shattered sci-fi world, this game offers a variety of different mech classes to master, online modes to learn and conquer, wide customization options and all in varied and vast environments. If you’re looking for a new game to play with friends this summer, Mecha Break just might be the ticket.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, Switch 2) – July 11

It’s a skater’s summer! The iconic former Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 games return in an enhanced and improved collection. Developer River End Games keeps things exciting in July by serving up an isometric, narrative stealth game set in the fictional town of Eriksholm. Following young Hanna, this game explores how she navigates through trials and tribulations, betrayal and terror, all in an effort to find her lost brother Herman, a quest that soon turns into an outright conspiracy that threatens the entire town.

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox series) – July 15

The Light and Darkness Saga is done and over, but Bungie is now ready to start a whole new era for Destiny 2. In July a new saga begins with the expansion The Edge of Fate, a new chapter takes Guardians to the edge of the solar system to visit the dangerous destination Kepler and its infamous Reef, a place known for its long-forgotten human settlement and the peculiar anomaly that twisted it into something strange.

Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2) – July 17

The biggest launch of the month and probably the biggest launch of the year for Nintendo Switch 2 users. Donkey Kong Bananza is a 3D action platform game in which the famous ape protects a young Pauline while digging deeper and deeper into the core of the planet, all to prevent a Kong gang from causing terror. Mechanical depth and plenty of charisma seem to be the name of the game in this title, making it an absolute must-play this summer.

Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business (PC, PS5, Xbox series) – July 17

Building on the events of the well-received Robocop: Rogue City, Unfinished Business is a standalone adventure that begins after the main game and sees the famous law enforcement officer enter OmniTower to rid it of its criminal inhabitants. With more intense action, plenty of violence and even flashbacks that also allow you to play as the human Alex Murphy.

Shadow Labyrinth (PC, PS5, Xbox series, Switch, Switch 2) – July 18

Pac-Man like you’ve never experienced him before. Shadow Labyrinth is a 2D action platform game with Metroidvania elements, a game in which you take on the role of an unnamed Swordsman and are then tasked with escaping a hellish planet, all with the help of a yellow companion creature with a hunger that cannot be satisfied. Needless to say, this is a far cry from the typical arcade adventures we know and expect from Pac-Man.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic (PC) – July 21

One of the most famous expansions makes its appearance in World of Warcraft Classic this summer. Mists of Pandaria takes us back to the Asian-inspired continent to experience a story with a particular emphasis on spirituality and adventure. Introducing the Pandaren -race for Classic and the Monk -class, this is the perfect opportunity for a nostalgia blast during the height of summer.

Wheel World (PC, PS5, Xbox series) – July 23

Once known as Ghost Bike, Messhof ‘s Wheel World is a sports adventure ideal for anyone looking to hit the open road this summer. This game is all about hopping on your bike and teaming up with an ancient cycling spirit to race against elite teams, perform gnarly tricks and ultimately also work to save the universe from a major disaster.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PC, PS5, Xbox series) – July 24

July has been completely free of Soulslikes so far, but it won’t stay that way. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a dark and fantastical story that follows a female pirate known as Wuchang, who after waking up and suffering from amnesia, finds herself trapped in a world overrun by darkness, plague and monsters. With plenty of action and challenging battles to master, this is a game that is sure to keep your heart rate high this summer.

Killing Floor 3 (PC, PS5, Xbox series) – July 24

It has taken longer than expected to reach this day after a series of delays, but Tripwire is finally ready to introduce the world to Killing Floor 3 this summer. The action title drops a number of players into a level and then asks them to hold their own against a series of terrifying creatures and monsters from your worst nightmares. Granted, you will be equipped with deadly and dangerous weapons to fight back against the horrors, so expect plenty of carnage and blood in this project.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (Switch 2) – July 24

We’re keeping it short because owners of the original game will be very familiar with what Super Mario Party Jamboree brings to the table. The difference here is that the Switch 2 ?Edition of the game introduces the Jamboree TV feature, a new mode that uses some of the Switch 2’s new features and tricks for even more fun and crazy party minigames.

No sleep mode for Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files (PC, Switch, Switch 2) – July 25

The popular and long-running Japanese series returns with a chapter revolving around Internet idol A-set, as she is tasked with surviving an alien abduction that leads to participation in a dangerous escape game. At the same time, the famous Kaname Date is across town searching for A-set and discovering the UFO that abducted her but shouldn’t exist, while dealing with a strange device that has appeared and delivered an ominous message.

Ratatan (PC, PS5, Xbox series, Switch) – July 25

Rhythm fans rejoice, you won’t want to miss this project this summer. Ratatan is a roguelike adventure that uses complex rhythm commands to provide an entertaining and action-packed experience that is all about keeping rhythm and staying on time. Originating from Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani, this game combines procedurally generated levels with power-ups and interactive music to create a game like no other.

Tales of the Shire (PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch) – July 29

We’ve been waiting quite some time for a chance to return to the coziest corner of Middle-earth to spend time in The Shire as part of Tales of the Shire, but thankfully that game is almost here. After a collection of delays, the project will be released in July, bringing with it a livesim featuring famous The Lord of the Rings characters and plenty of stable and sweeter tasks, all about appreciating the finer parts of life.

Grounded 2 (PC, Xbox series) – July 29

Obsidian Entertainment’s year continues. What has quickly become its most efficient and productive developer is picking up delivering Avowed in February and finally The Outer Worlds 2 in the fall, by simply squeezing in a Grounded sequel. Admittedly, Grounded 2 will not yet be a complete game, as like its predecessor it will go through the Game Preview /Early Access program, allowing fans and the community to come together to influence development.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox series, Switch) – July 31

The month concludes with the next installment of Year of the Ninja, as developer The Game Kitchen will drop Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound will drop, a challenging side-scrolling action-platforming game that looks to combine the classic era of the famous franchise with its more modern and intense entries. With complex and demanding mechanics that push the limits, difficult to overcome enemies and a world full of secrets and additional threats, this is the perfect way to prepare for the eventual arrival of Ninja Gaiden 4 this fall.
