The more affordable version of the upcoming Galaxy A series of phones, the Galaxy A14 5G makes a big jump from the Exynos 850 chipset to the much more powerful Exynos 1330.
Positioned ahead of the Galaxy A34, A54 and A74, the Galaxy A14 promises to deliver a competitive level of performance at a tempting price.
According to data centralized so far, the Exynos 1330 is a 4nm manufacturing process solution, much more efficient than the 8nm technology previously used. As yet unannounced, the new chipset comes with faster CPU, but the biggest performance leap could come on the graphics acceleration side, with Samsung wanting to attack the budget gaming phone niche in particular.
On the CPU side, we’ll have two main ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz, helped by 2 Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. Graphics acceleration will be provided by a 950MHz ARM Mali-G68 GPU.
Identified with the model name SM-A146B, the new smartphone comes straight out with Android version 13. The phone features 6GB of RAM and a 6.8-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The list of features is completed with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, 5G and a 5000mAh battery with fast charging at 15W power via USB-C.
The Galaxy A14 5G could be released with the rest of the Galaxy A family in Q1-2023 (Feb-March).
