G2 Esports ha changed the name of its franchise from Call of Duty League (CDL)eliminating Minnesota Rokkr in favor of a name more familiar to fans of the organization. This has been replaced with a revamped logo, along with the name G2 Minnesota, which will be used throughout the 2026 CDL season.
The franchise misled fans with a fake announcement hinting at a rebranding to G2 Berlin and a move to Berlin, Wisconsin. Shortly after the fake rebranding, G2 Esports unveiled its G2 Minnesota name for the upcoming season.
Unlike other franchises that have decided to change locations, G2 Esports has opted to remain in Minnesota, where it has operated since the formation of the CDL franchise in 2019. There will be many new names competing in the CDL in 2026, with the debuts of FaZe Vegas and Riyadh Falcons, plus an unnamed franchise operated by French esports organization Gentle Mates.
With the Call of Duty signing period in full swing, G2 Minnesota is one of several franchises that have yet to reveal their roster for the 2026 season.
