11 Bit Studios has finally released the first gameplay trailer for Frostpunk 2, the sequel to 2018’s acclaimed post-apocalyptic city-builder. After confirming a release in the first half of 2024 for PC, it announced PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will launch later. The sequel will also launch on PC Game Pass and later on Game Pass.
As for the trailer, it is from the perspective of The City’s Steward, who hears non-stop requests from various factions. You can take action and try to keep things under control, but laws require votes (and there is a chance of failure). But if you manage to convince enough delegates, who knows where humanity might go and whether they will survive to tell the tale.
The detail and scale of The City are impressive, with the footage captured on a PC using an AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro and Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Stay tuned for more details on system requirements and a release date for Frostpunk 2 in the coming months.
