Flowdesk raises $50M from Cathay, Bpifrance and Ripple

Le crypto market maker parisian Flowdesk has just completed a series B from 50 million dollars headed by Cathay Innovation. The fresh capital will be used to recruit and accelerate its expansion to theinternational.

This Thursday, Flowdesk has announced a new $50 million financing round. The French company specializing in market-making in the crypto ecosystem had already raised $30 million in Series A funding last year.

The market maker’s Series B also includes participation from Cathay Ledger Fund, Eurazeo, ISAI, Speedinvest, Bpifrance and Ripple, according to a press release.

This round of financing shows that Flowdesk is the emerging benchmark solution for market making and OTC trading services, thanks to our liquidity management solutions for token issuers and institutions,” said Flowdesk CEO Guilhem Chaumont.

The funding will enable Flowdesk to open offices in major financial centers and expand its presence in Singapore and the US. The crypto firm, which had already doubled its workforce by 2023, also expects to recruit new talent as a result of this operation.

Flowdesk partnered with Société Générale’s EURCV stablecoin and Bitstamp exchange last month. The content provider also recently became the liquidity provider for Grayscale’s Bitcoin spot ETF.

Denis Barrier, co-founder of Cathay Innovation, announced some imminent investment news in a January 17 interview with RoyalsBlue.com. The deal, he stressed, would illustrate the VC’s investment thesis in favor of tokenization and the transformation of market finance.
