Ethereum Shapella: Coinbase will allow withdrawals within 24 hours

Coinbase will offer its customers the possibility to remove their ethers placed in staking ” about 24 hours “after the deployment of the update.

While the update Shapella (Shanghai + Capella) – which will allow holders of stashed ETH to withdraw them – is fast approaching, Coinbase yesterday announced that users of its platform would be able to recover their ethers “Approximately 24 hours” after the upgrade is complete.

“The unstaking applications will be open to all customers Coinbase at the same time and will be relayed to the Ethereum protocol and queued based on when they are received. We expect demand on the network to be high shortly after the update, as this is the first time stakers will be able to release funds since December 2020,” the U.S. crypto exchange said in a blog post.

Earlier this month, ETH staking withdrawals were simulated on the last of three testnets, Goerli. The actual deployment date is still to be determined. It should occur next month.
