Esports Bureau: The Málaga Open is back

The city of Malaga will host the next stop of the Storm Circuitthe main amateur structure of Riot Games in Spain. Málaga Open EsportsThe event, organized by the City Council of Malaga and the Digital Content Pole, will feature a Tier 2 stop of League of Legends and VALORANT.

In this stop you can enjoy a tournament of each game that will have an online Qualifying Phase and a face-to-face Final Phase, which will be played on June 3. In addition, in both disciplines another tournament will be held completely remotely.

The 2022/23 Storm Circuit season, which will conclude next July, is supported by leading brands such as Intel, Omen, PcComponents, Red Bull, Samsung SSD and Chocomel.

League of Legends tournament dates

The League of Legends competition will feature an online qualifier on May 19 and 20 and a Final Phase on May 21 that will allow the two qualified teams to attend Malaga to dispute the Grand Final in person on June 3.

VALORANT tournament dates

As in League of Legends, the VALORANT competition will take place over 3 days. The qualifier will be on May 26th and 27th and the Final Phase on May 28th, from which two finalist teams will emerge and will also play the on-site Grand Final on Saturday, June 3rd.

In addition, both games will feature a fully online tournament. The LoL one will be held on June 10 and 11, while the VALORANT one will take place on June 3 and 4.

Prizes for the finalists

The finalists of both games will share a total prize pool of €1,500, plus a pack of state-of-the-art peripherals.

Winners of the fully online tournament will not have access to these prizes, but will have the opportunity to earn points towards the Storm Circuit ranking.
