The organizer of esports tournaments ESL FACEIT Group and the International Basketball Association (FIBA) have announced the second season of the eFIBA international tournament in NBA 2K24.. This new season will start in the month of October on PlayStation 5, through the NBA 2K24 ProAM game mode.
The eFIBA tournament is the official esports series endorsed by FIBA and open to basketball federations worldwide. The inaugural seasonwhich took place earlier this year, saw more than 30 countries represented from four continents.
The second season will continue with its current format.with players competing in ProAM mode, meaning that everyone will control their own avatar. There will be online regional qualifierswhich will be followed by the regional finals. Main regions: Africa, America, Asia and Europe.. The top two nations, from each regional final .will advance to the eFIBA World Finals to be held later this year in LAN format for the first time in history.
The eFIBA tournament is the first to be launched after. FIBA, video game publisher 2K and the NBA 2K League signed a multi-year agreement.which allows the hosting of international NBA 2K esports events for national basketball federations. The tournament takes place alongside the NBA 2K League, the highest level league in North Americawhich features teams from established NBA franchises.
eFIBA was created to nurture and develop the passionate NBA 2K community, while offering online and offline competitions and events. Its inaugural season has already left a tremendous mark on the esports and sports gaming scene, and we can’t wait to continue building the ecosystem for teams.
