Disney +: what to watch in August 2023 –

Disney + is a shadow of the streaming service it once was, as it doesn’t release half as much original content these days as it used to. That said, this August includes some very exciting additions, so to see what Disney + will offer its subscribers, we’ve gathered and compiled the most attractive additions so you know what to watch and when to catch it.

Television series

Only Murders in the Building (season 3) – Aug. 8

The immensely popular comedy-drama series starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez returns this month for its third season. With episodes debuting weekly, season 3 begins with a double-bill premiere, in which the trio will no doubt be looking to solve all sorts of unusual murder cases.

Ahsoka – Aug. 23

The latest live-action Star Wars television series will revolve around Anakin Skywalker’s former Jedi Knight and Padawan. Ahsoka will see Rosario Dawson star as the Jedi warrior as she travels the galaxy, helping those in need and seeking to end a growing threat that plans to fill the hole of the collapsed Empire.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge – Aug. 23

The famous British survivalist is back and ready to tackle Earth’s most hostile environments. Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge sees Bear teach several celebrity guests the skills and techniques they need if they plan to survive in stressful situations.

Movies

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – Aug. 2

The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie comes to Disney+ to kick off the month. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 closes the arc of this era of Guardians and sees the gang of superheroes overcome emotional challenges and confront a twisted new adversary in the effort to save and protect the people most in need throughout the galaxy.

Vacation Friends 2 – Aug. 25

This sequel to the silly comedy film, Vacation Friends, begins a few months after the original film and sees newly married Marcus and Emily invite friends Ron and Kyla on an all-expense paid trip to a luxurious Caribbean resort. Needless to say, expect lots of laughs with this comic sequel.

Cinderella 4K Recovered Version – Aug. 25

You know the story, and you’ve probably seen this movie a few times, but never at this level of quality. This 4K Restored Version of Cinderella serves up the fairy tale with striking original but remastered visuals that seek to recapture the magic of the story all over again.
