HBO has announced that it has renewed Curb Your Enthusiasm for season 12, and this should be good news for fans of the production.
Continuing the template set by Larry David when the show debuted in 2000, season 11 of Curb Your Enthusiasm featured various appearances by famous faces, a broadcast of Larry’s remarks, and an ongoing storyline that ended rather unexpectedly for the protagonist.
Season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm will happen one hundred percent
HBO has announced that it has greenlit Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12.
Reacting to the news with a statement given in his own style, Larry said it was the great honor of his career to play the character. He described his protagonist as a “multi-faceted, multi-talented man” who “in six languages, makes his own pickles and leads a national movement to install a bidet in every home.”
Recently, it was revealed that Curb Your Enthusiasm season 11 may have included a scene of Larry’s death. As one of the show’s executive producers, Jeff Schaffer, explained, a death scene of the fictional version of Larry would indeed have been filmed. This happened because, behind the scenes, it’s a tradition to go into each season with the assumption that it will be your last.
For now, at least, that death will be avoided. The way the series has been set up, the creative team is free to take breaks and reconvene when the time becomes right. This was most evident in the six-year gap between seasons 8 and 9. When asked why such a popular comedy needed such a long break between seasons, David said he was tired of people asking him about it.
With this latest update, fans of the show may not have to wait too long, not this time at least.
