Coinbase lets you send crypto via SMS, WhatsApp and Telegram

Coinbase now offers its customers customers using its non-depository portfolio to send crypto by sharing a simple link by message and via social networks.

This week, Coinbase introduced a new feature on Coinbase Walletits non-custodial wallet.

With Coinbase Wallet, sending money is now as easy as sending an SMS. […] On any platform where we can share a link, including messaging apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram and social media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram,” the company wrote on its blog.

In detail, Coinbase Wallet users must initiate a crypto transfer and then send the automatically generated link to the person of their choice.

By clicking on it, the recipient will be invited to download the American giant’s wallet application where she will find the funds sent, which will be returned to the sender if not claimed within 2 weeks.

According to the announcement, Coinbase Wallet supports fiduciary ramps in over 130 countries.

Last month, the San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange platform announced that it had completed a good third quarter, despite still posting negative earnings. It is now looking to accelerate its international expansion, particularly in Europe.
