Indie developers Mureena and Psychoflow Studio have announced that their upcoming sci-fi platform adventure, Bionic Bay, will be released on April 17. This gives them time to do some additional polishing on the game. In the coming weeks, a brand new demo will be released on Steam highlighting the exciting online mode. This preview will allow players to discover Bionic Bay Online, where they can take on speedrun challenges, race against player ghosts and rise in the global leaderboards.
Bionic Bay is a truly unique pixel platform game in which players step into the shoes of a scientist stranded in a mysterious biomechanical world, where realism and stunning pixel art come together. The game is packed with clever physics-based gameplay and meticulously hand-crafted levels. Players are introduced to core mechanics such as The Swap, Time Freeze and Power Fist, which allow them to creatively manipulate the environment and overcome dangers on every street corner. The world is full of ancient yet cutting-edge technologies, from bouncing power beams and super magnets to temporal anomalies and anti-gravity fluids. Fans of classic platform games can swing on ropes, detonate explosives and navigate through old, familiar rusty pipes.
Bionic Bay is the passion project of a small but dedicated team committed to creating an enchanting experience. This effort was recently recognized with the Best Game Design Award at the Taipei Game Show and will be released April 17 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
