Binance to delist privacy coins in France

To comply with the legislation, Binance will remove the cryptocurrencies based ona confidentialityas XMR and ZECof its platform in several European countriesincluding France.

From June 26, 2023 French customersbut also from other European countries including Italyof the world’s largest crypto exchange will no longer be able to trade privacy coinsalso known as “anonymity-enhanced crypto-assets (AECs)”.

We will officially inform you that due to local regulatory requirements, Binance is no longer able to offer anonymity-enhanced crypto-assets (CAE) in France,” the exchange wrote in an email sent to its French customers on Wednesday.

As shown in the screenshot above, the tokens affected are DCR, DASH, ZEC, ZEN, PIVX, NAV, SCRT, XVG, FIRO, BEAM, XMR and MOB.

With the new European MiCA regulations, platforms will only be able to offer privacy coins if the token holders and their transaction history can be identified by the crypto-asset service provider (CASP) or the relevant regulator.
