Alpine teases its all-electric hot hatchback –

The automaker, Alpine, has begun teasing its first all-electric hot hatchback. Known as the A290_β, the car will be fully unveiled in a few weeks during a stream on May 9 at 21:30 BST / 22:30 CEST.

But ahead of that full reveal, Alpine has shared a few additional bits of information about the car, including that it is the first addition to the “Dream Garage” will be, marking a new era for Alpine as a brand.

Otherwise, Alpine notes that the name of the car means different aspects of the design. 2 refers to the size of the car (which probably means it will be a two-door car), 90 refers to Alpine’s “multi-purpose sports vehicles” and the beta symbol refers to the fact that this is a beta version of the car, prior to its full road launch in 2024.

Those attending the Baku Grand Prix this weekend will have a chance to win an invitation to the car’s unveiling by capturing the QR code placed on Alpine’s F1 car this weekend.
