Adidas opens Web3 artists’ residency

The brand at 3 strips has lifted the veil on ” RESIDENCY by Adidas a residency program for digital artists.

Via son Three Stripes Studio (or studio ///), Adidas announced Thursday the upcoming launch of a residency program for digital artists.

Residency by Adidas aims to unite the fields of art, creative expression and identity that are at the heart of Adidas’ Web3 philosophy, as well as its commitment to fostering creativity and innovation within the community,” proclaims the German company.

On its dedicated website, the studio /// indicates that this project represents “a unique opportunity” to showcase Web3 artists and engage in “collaborative co-creation” in the digital and physical realms.

Several artists have already been selected by Adidas, including MonkeeMoto and DearNostalgia. The official opening of the program will take place on September 6 at a blockchain event in Seoul. A first sale will then take place with 4 works of art NFT commissioned by Adidas and imagined by the first participants in the residency.

This initiative is another great milestone for our studio as we continue to explore, experiment and diversify our impact and value in the Web3 community. […] It felt natural to pull out all the stops and create an even stronger path and platform for some of the coolest and most engaging artists in our community,” said Stacey King, studio communications manager /// on Vogue.

Adidas plunged into the Web3 at the end of 2021 with its Into The Metaverse project in partnership with BAYC. Since then, the equipment manufacturer has multiplied its initiatives. Earlier this month, it teamed up with clothing brand BAPE to make a very limited edition NFT sneaker drop.
