Acer Swift has always been a series of ultra-portable computers focused on reducing size and weight, but the new Swift Edge could be its most exciting model yet. Not only is this a laptop equipped with Ryzen 6000 PRO processors for the productivity zone, but it’s also equipped with a 16″ 4K OLED display. On top of all that, the Acer Swift Edge is also one of the lightest laptops on the market, weighing in at just 1.17kg.
Acer Swift Edge is a large screen laptop for business
It’s clear that this model is dedicated to the business area, as we don’t see many consumer laptops equipped with Microsoft Pluton, a security processor that ensures secure storage of users’ biometric data. These capabilities are generally used in corporate environments. So are Ryzen 6000 PRO processors, with dedicated business features. Those who don’t need these advantages can choose a “standard” Ryzen 6000 configuration.
The 16″ OLED display promises 500 nits brightness, which is normal for an OLED display, and the full DCI-P3 color space display (100%) suggests the display is good enough for creative use as well. It’s unclear, however, whether it comes already calibrated, or whether manual calibration will be required on the user’s part.
As a business computer, ports are very important, and the Acer Swift Edge comes with an HDMI 2.1, two USB Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, which also allow fast charging, as well as two USB Type-A ports. There’s also a headphone jack, for those who need one. An SD or microSD card slot seems to be missing, but there’s no shortage of wireless technologies like Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E.
Pricing for the Acer Swift Edge starts at €1,500 and will be available in stores before the end of October.
