With a prompt you or your pet become a model.
A trend at ChatGPT: It started with the controversial Ghibli trend, now we’re on to the next viral phenomenon:
Chic, high-contrast portraits in the style of star photographers like Helmut Newton or Platon Antoniou are taking over social media.
We’ll show you which prompt will get you good results and what you should pay attention to when it comes to trends like this.

What you should keep in mind about ChatGPT trends
Especially with the portrait trend, you should think about whether you want to join in, because you have to upload a photo of your face.
OpenAI then has this available and in its data protection declaration grants itself the right to use media uploaded by you to improve the model. This means photos of your face can be used to train OpenAI’s next models.
If you don’t want that, you have 2 options:
- Don’t join the trend.
Your biometric data is sensitive. They connect your face with your person.
Many users also use pictures of their pets for such trends, which is what we did in our example. - In the settings, set that your chat is not used for model training.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to ChatGPT and click on your profile picture or the picture with your initials.
- Click on

. - Click on

This is how you create a high-contrast black and white portrait
GPT-4o (we are now at version 5.1) was trained, among other things, on stock images from Shutterstock and their captions. They are in English. Especially if you use a prompt with a lot of photography terms, it makes sense to write it in English.
We have created an effective prompt for you that will give you an attractive picture of yourself. The prompt works for both people and animals.
You are a professional portrait photographer. Create a detailed, black-and-white close-up portrait of the subject in 4K HD, captured front-facing with a 35 mm lens. Focus on a strong and expressive look, with sharp detail, natural texture, and smooth contrast. Use dramatic but controlled lighting to avoid excessive darkness while enhancing form and depth. The background must be completely black, isolating only the subject’s face or head. Use a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Then you do the following:
- Upload a picture of yourself or your pet.
If possible, this should be a frontal shot of the face so that the result looks as similar to you or your pet as possible. - Enter the prompt and send it.
How to create a black and white portrait with water drops
Would you like to cool down a bit? A few drops of water on your face add even more modeling factor.
We created the previous photo with the following prompt, it works for both people and animals:
You are a professional portrait photographer. Create a high-quality, black-and-white close-up portrait of the subject, front-facing, shot with a 35 mm lens in 4K HD. Emphasize a strong, expressive appearance with realistic water droplets on the surface of the skin, fur, or texture. Use crisp contrast and dramatic but balanced lighting to highlight fine detail and structure, without making the image too dark. The background should be pure black, with only the face or head visible. Frame the image in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
But be careful: in the free version of ChatGPT you only have a few generations available. So think carefully about who or what you want to generate.
What do you think about that? Have you noticed the trend and are you interested in it? Or would you rather do without here? Write us your opinion and experiences in the comments!
