Games to look for – August 2025 -.

It’s the last month of summer. August 2025 has arrived and, as usual, we are in for a stable month, culminating in a few big-name launches. It must be said that, since August is also Gamescom month, there’s a reasonable chance that some games will be dwarfed in the final days, meaning that the selections we highlighted in today’s Games To Look For may be just a taste of what the full August looks like. Either way, let’s move on.

Mafia: The Old Country (PC, PS5, Xbox series) – Aug. 8

One of the tentpole launches of the month, developer Hangar 13 takes us back to a life of crime for the next chapter in the Mafia series. This will be no closer to the present, however, as instead it will take fans back to the early 1900s, to Sicily of all places, to see how one man climbs through the ranks and is made into the Torrisi crime family. Expect gritty action, suspenseful drama and a story designed to mirror classic mob films.
