Bandai Namco reveals an exciting sci-fi take on Pac-Man and its larger arcade universe in Shadow Labyrinth – That’s Gaming

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe today announced SHADOW LABYRINTH to, a visionary-inspired new game set in a sci-fi universe that draws from the company’s legendary arcade franchise. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the game features an exciting and visceral new take on the company’s most beloved icon, PAC-MAN. The unveiling of SHADOW LABYRINTH unravels the mystery of this new vision for the PAC-MAN franchise as seen in Secret Level, Prime Video’s anthology series for adults, as the setting for a 2D action platform game in which players must consume to survive on a hostile alien world. SHADOW LABYRINTH differs greatly from all previous PAC-MAN games, with players taking on the role of another character as the protagonist, named Swordsman No. 8. In the game, which follows the events introduced in the short Secret Level animation, players awaken on an alien planet still ravaged by war and monsters. They soon meet PUCK, a mysterious but recognizable figure who teaches them that their goal in this treacherous world is to escape, and to achieve that they must consume everything that waits in the darkness to survive – and eventually become the planet’s top predator. This unique game is inspired by the source material, and players traverse a world of mazes in which they are challenged at every step by new and familiar enemies and puzzles. Success comes from mastering fluid combat and exploration to reveal increasingly powerful abilities and skills and overcome challenging bosses to discover their true purpose.

As players progress through SHADOW LABYRINTH and delve deeper into the maze of this mysterious world, they discover its secrets and learn why PUCK chose them for this task. The game draws further inspiration for its story and setting from Bandai Namco’s broader library of beloved arcade games.
