League of Legends World Championship 2025 to be held in China

Riot Games has announced that the 2025 League of Legends World Championship will be held in China. The revelation was made during a presentation event, both announced the extension of sponsorship between the two companies.

This will be the third time the League of Legends World Championship will be held in China. The 2017 edition was held in four cities – Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing – with the finals taking place in the famous Bird’s Nest stadium. The next tournament venues will be revealed at an unspecified later date.

In 2020, a more low-key world championship was staged in Shanghai, while the pandemic was still ongoing. The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), the second largest annual League of Legends event, was also held in Chengdu, China earlier this year.
