Resistance Trailer highlights main character – That’s Gaming

The Sniper Elite-franchise has always had one hero at the helm: Karl Fairburne of the OSS. But Sniper Elite: Resistance throws in a different twist with Harry Hawker in the lead role. Hawker, who previously starred in Sniper Elite 3 appeared to help Fairburne defeat the Afrika Korps, now travels to southern France to stop the Nazis from developing a new Wunderwaffe.

In a new video, Ben Fisher, lead designer at Rebellion, and Simon Ible, lead artist, elaborate on Hawker and its personality. Described as “calm, focused and determined,” he will stop at nothing to defeat the Nazis. If something fails, Hawker quietly seeks another solution.

The story runs parallel to Sniper Elite 5 and is set in southern France during World War II. Although the region is known for D-Day, there is much more conflict to resolve. Players travel to the Alps, vineyards, castles and other locations to fight the Nazis.

Sniper Elite: Resistance comes out on Jan. 30, 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC. Owners of the Deluxe Edition will get access as early as Jan. 28, along with the Season Pass for three post-launch DLCs.
