Home Alone 2 is one of the best Christmas movies of all time. It’s even better than the original. Yes, I said it. For some, the film may be tainted by a cameo by Donald Trump in which Kevin McAllister asks the former president for directions to the lobby of the Plaza Hotel.
The film’s director, Christopher Columbus, recalled that Donald Trump had only allowed the crew to film at the Plaza on one condition. “‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie'”, he recalls Trump saying. “So we agreed to put him in the movie, and when we first showed it, something strange happened: people cheered when Trump appeared on the screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Let him be in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.’ But he did bully his way into the film.”

Trump, responding on Truth Social, said the events were quite different, instead claiming that the director begged him to be in the film. It seems that in his post he even claimed credit for the film being such a success, even with a few seconds of screen time.
