Barbie’s soundtrack smashes UK singles record

Barbie can’t help but keep breaking records. Although the film posted a significant drop in the box office for the second week, the film’s soundtrack did the exact opposite in the top 40 UK charts.

The film has landed six of its singles on the charts, absolutely smashing the record of any soundtrack before it. In recent weeks, British fans have flocked to the soundtrack so massively that it managed to climb and grab number three, four, five, 19, 25 and 39 on the charts, which is three more singles from one soundtrack in the top 40 than anything that came before it.

In terms of the songs that made the cut, they are:

• What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish – No. 3
• Dance the Night Away by Dua Lipa – No. 4
• Barbie World by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice – No. 5
• Speed Drive by Charlie XCX – No. 19
• I’m Just Ken by Ryan Gosling – No. 25
• Pink by Lizzo – No. 39
