Payday 3 is scheduled for September – That’s Gaming

The wait for Payday 3 has been long, but developer Starbreeze has made it clear in recent months that development of the cooperative heist shooter is in full swing and that a release later this year is on the horizon. While details on the exact date in that time frame have been scarce until now, a specific release date now seems to have emerged.

According to @ALumia_Italia, a reliable leaker who regularly searches the Xbox Store backend and keeps track of updates, Payday 3 will launch on Sept. 21.

Starbreeze and publisher Prime Matter have repeatedly stressed that the first-person shooter will come out this year, and if a September release is indeed scheduled, an announcement could be made soon.

Last month, a short teaser trailer was released for Payday 3, confirming that a full gameplay reveal will take place this summer. Whether that refers to Summer Game Fest, scheduled for June 8, remains to be seen.

Payday 3 is in development for PC and consoles. There is no official word yet on whether it will be cross-gen.
