Vivo announces X90 Pro launch in Europe

Nearly four months after the debut of the Vivo X90 models, the Chinese manufacturer offers the first details about their availability in Europe. Unlike the original series in China, in Europe we’ll only get the X90 Pro model, while the “standard” X90 variant only arrives in India and other Asian countries. The Pro Plus model thus remains exclusive to China. This is the first Vivo phone with a 1″ photo sensor on the main camera.

Vivo X90 Pro is the only model of the series to arrive in Romania

The Vivo X90 Pro is an unusual model in the smartphone market. Instead of adopting the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, like other flagships being launched at the moment, it will use a processor made by MediaTek. This is the flagship of the Dimensity family, the 9200. It is comparable in specs and performance to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, at least on paper. What Vivo will use on the X90 Pro, however, is a proprietary image processor, called V2, which we’ll only find on this model.

In terms of hardware configuration we’re dealing with a “standard” phone in the top end: 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, and a 6.78″ display with resolution between Full HD and QHD, 1,260p, at 120Hz on an OLED display. Of course, the phone is waterproof and dustproof to IP68 standard.

The camera system consists of a 1″ main sensor, the already famous Sony IMX989, with a 50 megapixel camera with 2x zoom for portraits, as well as a 12 megapixel ultrawide camera. The cameras use ZEISS optics. This could be the first 1″ sensor phone to be available in Europe this year. Models such as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra or Xiaomi 13 Pro have remained exclusive to the Chinese market for now.

Countries in Europe getting the Vivo X90 Pro are Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, Serbia, and of course Romania. The price at which the phone is expected to raf tests at around €1,100, a pretty competitive range, where we also find the new Galaxy S23, iPhone 14 Pro and a few other top models launched recently.
